PARFUMO is a german based community of fragrance lovers that over the years have conducted a tremendous research and have added thousands of fragrances into comprehensive database. They also have the English website, full of members reviews, descriptions of scents and overall easy to navigate catalogue.
The most visually appealing database, featuring the notes of the fragrances, classifying the scents into profiles, providing you with alternatives based on similar notes breakdown. Creating your own scent profile there is highly advised, as you will be able to discover new scents based on your preferences.
The most comprehensive source on the upcoming releases, including personal reviews of the maker of the site, Brian Bakker. Also great resource for active discount codes across several webshops.
Lifetime work of M. Edwards and his dedicated team. Most thorough research on fragrances, best of the databases available. It is often used to train people in retail environment. All data is triple checked and 100% accurate as it comes straight from the creating source.
Beware, in order to access the database you need a paid subscription.
Second project on M. Edwards that allows people to find new fragrances based on their existing favorites. It is fun to use and had lead me to discovering one of the best fragrances in my collection.
This resource is free.
Least accurate database out there. Often biased and unmoderated space that leads to a lot of confusion, but so far the most known database amongst non-fragrance fanatics. Easily accessible, but far away from being flawless in serving its content to the end consumer.
A very special addition to the list. If you are needing help dating vintage fragrances, or want to read about history of certain scents, Cleo’s Boudoir blog is a must.
