MY THOUGHTS
The Harmonist Moon Glory struck me profoundly when I first experienced it several years ago, during my introduction to the brand’s portfolio at Esxence Expo in Milan.
From the first spray, Moon Glory revealed itself as more than a simple composition. Every note felt deliberate, each transition purposeful and attention-grabbing. This isn’t just another floral resting on a sweet base—it’s a masterclass in tension, complexity, and texture. Such craftsmanship reflects years of tenacious expertise in fragrance blending.
At its core, Moon Glory centers on ylang-ylang, but it pushes the material far beyond its usual associations. Here, ylang-ylang feels multifaceted: creamy, tropical, and distinctly vegetal, evoking thick, waxy petals rather than the airy florality so many associate with the note. A subtle skankiness weaves through the background—just enough to spark intrigue without tipping the composition into overt animalic territory.
Lychee opens the fragrance with a brief, translucent burst of crystalline sweetness. What follows is a slow melt into a honeyed amber and sandalwood base—rich, warm, and sticky like golden syrup. The sweetness runs deep but never cloys, anchored by a vegetal, woody edge.
The performance impresses. Moon Glory lingers on the skin for over 12 hours, with a sillage that makes itself known without ever becoming obtrusive. Still, this is a heady fragrance. In warm weather, I’ve found it expands noticeably, so it’s wise to go easy on the sprays.
