OFFICIAL BRAND STATEMENT
ONE DAY Taipei:
Ground soy, steamed glutinous rice and taro;
Scent and nuance of beans, grains and roots.
Soybeans strained and boiled into milk, the aroma of steamed rice and taro rising in the air. Flour and dough kneaded into taro balls, rolled hearty in bowls.
The gourmand sweetness enters the Taipei morning, moves into mid-day alleys and into the night.
Through rusted concrete and its rigid colors, the aged scent remains in the wooden builds between cool-toned concrete lofts.
The rootyness stains the narrow alleys between the low-rises downtown, brushing through the gates and chairs, kitchens and windows.
The rice lingers and weaves into the background, meeting the underlying tone.
The scene of old temples by the night markets.
The intimate human touch of town.
The warmth of the software that runs between the solidity and old, in the air and things that flow.

MY THOUGHTS
ONE DAY Taipei. where do I begin? It is all about the steamed milk gourmand like no other…
Something magical is hiding in the plain sight of the Taipei, the newest release in the Ethos of Cities collection by ONE DAY. I have been looking forward to trying it as rice dominant scents have been spotted amongst new releases of 2023-2024 few times by moi. And I have to say I freaking love that as rice is quite daring ingredient for creating that soft gourmand vibe without the final results being yet another candy or vanilla.
Taipei is so far the third fragrance in my collection that is revolving around the savouriness of the rice. Thick and dense aroma of steamed milk at the start made me hungry on a first whiff. Now, weeks later, I still manage to salivate and crave Bubble Tea when I wear it. If you are tea junkie like me, you will know what I mean once you try it.
Taipei is essentially a photorealistic scent of steaming hot soy milk and with dash of cooler iris notes that are responsible for the sparkling vibrant sillage of Taipei. The base is creamy sandalwood notes and all that connects it top to base is the impeccably recreated note of white rice. I have no idea how taro smells because I never had it as food but if it tastes like Taipei smells, it will be hard for me to stay away from it.
I have tested Tapiei it in various weather and the end result is always the same, I want to wear it more. The smoothness of the blend and vibrant play of warm and cool accords on my skin. Just perfect!
