INVESTING: THOMAS DE MONACO
As a longtime fan of Thomas De Monaco’s fragrances, I’ve followed the brand from its very first release, watching it grow from a whisper in the niche perfume world to a name that instantly grabs perfume lovers hearts with its creations. The magic of Thomas De Monaco scents lies in their ability to merge olfactory art with emotions, linking fragrances to our deepest memories and experiences. As the end result, the current portfolio of fragrances is both evocative and unexpected.
It is indeed a very bold move to journey off into equity crowdfunding. A lot of complicated words, but essentially it means that the brand is opening up an opportunity for fragrance lovers to own a piece of the company—and that’s something truly exciting to me. Many of you know me for being huge perfume lover and assesor, and since May of this year I am also an employee of Thomas De Monaco.
Let’s wind back though, I know many of you may have some questions. So what drew me in? Answer is very straightforward- from the start I was blown away by the brand’s unique, artisanal approach. Thomas De Monaco doesn’t churn out fragrances in rapid succession. There are no flankers, there are no cutting corners, all work was done by hand. First release, Raw Gold, felt like it was meticulously crafted, each ingredient carefully selected. I fell in love with sensuality of Raw Gold and later on with the elegance of Eau Coeur.
In the crowded world of niche perfumery, where every brand claims to be innovative, Thomas De Monaco genuinely delivers on that promise. There’s an artistry to their perfumes, visuals, packaging. I sensed how much care and attention and time went into developing the concept. Even the (directly) unseen details how company has been selecting retailers to partner up with. And I am not the only one who noticed. It’s easy to see why Thomas De Monaco has quickly become a cult favorite.
The niche fragrance market has been expanding in recent years as consumers increasingly seek out unique, high-quality scents over mass-produced perfumes fetched out of lab or AI generated formulas that are being sold to brands with some big perfumer name on the lable and iffy price tag to spice things up. With Thomas De Monaco’s commitment to craftsmanship, you won’t see this happening. Every scent is a vision of the creator, tailored to the very miniscule detail by Maurus (independent perfumer).
For me, investing into Thomas De Monaco isn’t just about financial returns; it’s about supporting a brand I believe in. I’ve witnessed firsthand how the brand has pushed the boundaries of scent creation, expanding rapidly and succeeding to capture attention with every release so far. I’ve put my trust and research on one hand and weighed them against the risks and the decision was made rather instantly. Being on the inside, I have a first-hand access to what is coming, and that future is looking bright. Thomas is continuing to explore new olfactory landscapes and it is really inspiring to me. Now with this equity crowdfunding campaign, he is kindly inviting others to play a very important part in that vision.
For you who might not know what it is, equity crowdfunding allows a company to raise capital from the general public by offering shares of the business in exchange for investment. The perm of angel investors is of utter most importance here. It took me some research to figure out that what I am participating in is a long-term investment. I am betting on the success in years to come and in case there will be an exit, my investment will pay off.
It’s not average Tesla or Apple stockmarket system where you see the numbers grow. and drop. Each year the growth is determined by expansion of the company which gets re-evaluated annually. Knowing how high the demand for fragrances is, the only way is up. In layman’s terms: as the company grows, so does the value of my investment. I find this approach very interesting as this equity crowdfunding method offers a unique way to be involved, fostering a dedicated community of supporters who are invested—literally and emotionally.
I hope that you now understand, that for me, investing in Thomas De Monaco isn’t just about financial returns; it’s about supporting a brand I truly love and believe in. It’s my way to be part of something creative and boundary-pushing. I see it as a truly rare opportunity to combine passion with investment. For connosieurs, like me, who have been enchanted by the brand from the beginning, this feels like big deal. Last thing I want is to loose trust in company, yet again, once some L’oreal or LVMH steps in and starts pushing through their demands destroying everything that brand have built so far. Look at what happened to Guerlain, Kilian, Frederic Malle, Byredo. The list is endless. They all have lost the touch with artistic side and they lost me as a customer in aftermath.
If your passion for fragrances is truly a passion and you share similar values with me, consider investing yourself. I’ll just leave the link here and please guys, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to message me here or in Instagram.
